An Analysis of Students’ Short Story Writing (Comparative Analysis Research Between Choleric and Melancholic Students at MAN 1 Kota Serang)


The main aim of this research is to analyze and dissect the differences in short story writing abilities between students with choleric personalities and students with melancholic personalities. Researchers used mixed-methods as a research method to investigate the results of short story writing, the differences, and the factors that differentiate short story writing between choleric students and melancholic students. Researchers use a personality questionnaire test to determine the personality of the students or respondents who will be researched, carry out short story writing tests, assess written short stories, and conduct interviews. Researchers use the normality test to find out whether the value data that has been collected shows normal data (has significant differences) or abnormal (does not have significant differences). The results obtained are that the value data is classified as normal data, then continues with independent testing. sample T test. In other words, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference in the results of short story writing between students with choleric personalities and students with melancholic personalities with melancholic students having superior and dominant abilities compared to students with choleric personalities. Apart from that, qualitatively, the results of interviews with informants from each personality through their respective perceptions show that there are many factors that influence the differences in short story writing results and writing abilities possessed by choleric students and melancholic students.
