Developing E-Module Syllabus-Based English Speaking Course (Developmental Research in SJ Class of Bimbel As-Sulaeman)
This study aims to investigate and enhance English speaking skills among Senior-Junior (SJ) level students at As-Sulaeman Course. The research is guided by three main objectives, the first is to assess the adequacy of the current English course content, second, is to map the competency levels in the design of the English speaking course, and the last is to develop a comprehensive e-module for speaking courses. The study adopts a development research design involving the R&D cycle's steps of studying research findings using ADDIE model's, Data collection methods include interviews, expert validation, and test with 12 SJ level students as subjects. The information was gathered from teacher interviews, test result (pre-test and Post-test), and expert validation result (media and material). The average score on the pre-test was 44,66 and the avarage on the post-test was 81,66. Data analysis produced qualitative and quantitative results in this research. Data analysis shows that the media is good and valid and can be used after students receive instructions on how to use it. E-modules can be used to teach English, especially speaking. It can be concluded that E-modules can be used as an English teaching tool for students, especially speaking classes. For further research, it is recommended that English language content be developed using more interesting e-modules.
