The Effectivenes of Simon Says Game for Improving Student’s Speaking Ability at the Tenth Grade of SMKN 3 Kota Serang


The main is aimed of this study was to examine the effectiveness of simon says game to improve students’s speaking ability. The researcher used quasi experimental as the research method in order to investigate whether students' speaking skill in experimental class can improve gradually after receiving treatment by using simon says. The researcher used Observation, interview, and speaking test were employed as research instrumenets. In practice, there were 60 students involved as sample of this study and they did pre-test and post-test . The researcher used t-test to analyze data and To analyze and interprete data before doing hypothesis testingconducted hypothesis testing. This finding of this study showed that t0 > tt or 4.08 > 1.67. It means that the the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted while the null hypothesis (H0) was also rejected. In other words, it may be concluded that there was significant effect of using simon says to improve student’s speaking ability at the tenth grade of SMKN 3 Serang city. Additionally, qualitative analysis of the study's findings demonstrates that Simon's claim that games were very adaptable and easy for students to use in the learning process is true. Additionally, the finding of this study also proven that Simon's say was very adaptable and easy to use in the learning process, it provides broad opportunities for students to speak up freely about description of a famous public figure and it can be adjusted with subject matter and learning objectives in the syllabus.
