The Effect of Using Poster Presentation for Increasing Students’ Speaking Skill (A Quasi-Experimental Research in Second Grade of MTs Daarul Hikmah Pekayon- Kab. Tangerang in Academic Year 2021/2022)


This research investigate the effect of using Poster presentation media in
speaking class. This research was to find out whether teaching speaking by poster
presentation could increase students speaking skill, especially in aspect of speaking.
A Quasi-Experimental was used by researcher as a methodology of this research. For
taking a data, the researcher was used an oral test as instrument in both pre-test and
post-test. The population of this research are the second year of Junior High School
at MTs Daarul Hikmah Pekayon-Kab.Tangerang. This research takes 60 students as a
sample and divided it into two classes there are control group and experimental
group. The research finding shows that t-test (tₒ) was higher than t-table (tᵗ) with
significant degree of 5% (20,14 > 1,67). In addition, the result of this research
showed that Ha was accepted because t-test was higher than t-table. It can be
concluded that using Poster Presentation media can increase students speaking skill
with some aspects which are improved including students' fluency, vocabulary,
pronunciation, grammar, and comprehension.
