An Analysis of Students English Spoken Communication at 8th Grade Islamic Boarding Junior High School Daarul Ishlah: Problem and Solution


This research aimed to investigate the students English spoken communication at 8th Grade Islamic Boarding Junior High School Daarul Ishlah, problem and solution. The objectives of the research to find out the students difficulties in English spoken communication, the factors of students English spoken communication experienced by students, and the solution for overcoming students difficulties in English spoken communication. This research used a qualitative research method. The research took the students of 8th grade as respondents which consist 10 students. In collecting the data, the researcher used observation, questionnaire and interview. Based on these results, ten respondents filled out and answered the questionnaire. According to the findings, some of the causes of students’ difficulties in English spoken communication are linguistic and psychological problems. Grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation are all linguistic issues. In addition, psychological factors include fear of making mistakes, their thoughts are jumbled when English spoken communication, shyness, feelings of discomfort, and anxiety. To improve their English spoken communication skills, the students try to practice their English spoken communication not only in class but also in their daily activities.
