THE USE OF DUET SPEAKING CHALLENGE VIDEO TO IMPROVE STUDENTS SPEAKING SKILLS (An Experimental Research at the Eight Grade Students of Mts Al- Insyirah Muncang Lebak)


This research aims to find out the use of duet speaking challange video to
improve students speaking skill at the eight grade of Mts Al-Insyirah
Muncang. This study was experimental research and using quasi experimental
method, compare two classes from the eight grade of Mts Al-insyirah which is
VIII A as experimental class, and VIII B as control class, the instrument of
the research is using pre-test and post-test and collected score using scoring
sheet to make sure that student speaking ability improvement in using duet
speaking challange video at the eight grade of Mts Al-Insyirah Muncang. The
writer collected the data from 66 students in two classes from experimental
class and control class, the result shows that duet speaking challange video
improved the students speaking ability, it can be seen from the score of
experimental class the mean score of pre test is (45.48) and the score of posttest
(74.36), hypothesis of t-test of both sample t-table with 5% significance
level found ( 1.66) and with 1% significance level found ( 2,38).
And the result is on significance 5% = 1,66 and 1% = 2,38. It indicates that
> or 3.21 > 1,66 and 3.21> 2,38 so the null hypothesis ( ) are rejected
and he alternative hypothesis ( ) is accepted, from the increase in student
abilities, it can be seen from the enthusiasm of student in participating in
learning to speak English which is considered more fun and help student to
improve their speaking skill by continuously interacting and exploring their
own abilities using duet speaking challange video.
