Challenges Of English Online Teaching Learning Writing In Pandemic Covid-19 (A Descriptive Qualitative Research of the eleven Grade Students' of SMAN 1 Pabuaran in the Academic Year of 2020/2021)


This study aims to describe the challenges of teachers and students and the solution in online learning to write English at SMA Negeri 1 Pabuaran. The subjects of this study were 2 English teachers and 20 students at SMA Negeri 1 Pabuaran. This study used a descriptive qualitative method. The research method used by the researcher is by giving questionnaires and interviews conducted online. Questionnaires were given to 20 students and 2 English teachers at SMA Negeri 1 Pabuaran. Meanwhile, the interview was only conducted by 5 students and 2 English teachers. In this study, it was found that there were problems with poor internet access experienced by some students of SMA Negeri 1 Pabuaran, as well as a lack of enthusiasm for learning because they were still not used to doing online learning. As well as being an obstacle for English teachers to find out the extent of their understanding in learning English. Therefore teachers and schools try to find solutions so that learning activities can still be carried out properly. The solution taken by the school is to provide free internet quota facilities and do visits to students' homes to give assignments to students who are constrained by internet access. In the end, this research is expected to be useful for English teachers, readers, and schools to get information and can develop the quality of education.
