Using Video Recording As Self Reflection To Improve Students Speaking Accuracy And Fluency (A Pre Experimental Research at The Eight Semester Of English Education Department of State Islamic University Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten)


This research is aimed to investigate the effect of using video recording as self-reflection to improve students’ speaking accuracy and fluency. The research was conducted at the eight term of English Education Department using quantitative research by implementing pre experimental as the research method. This exploration employed one class. A pre-test and post-test were obtained as the instruments and analyzed by using paired t-test. It is used to determine the students’ speaking skills before and after implementing video recording as self-reflection. The result revealed a significant increase in students’ speaking skills, especially in their accuracy and fluency. The result are shown by The mean of pre-test = 59,81 and post-test = 79,90 which indicates the improvement before and after implementing video recording and the result > = 11,345 > 2,086 in degree significance 5% and > = 11,345 > 2.845 in degree of significance 1%. The researcher concludes that video recording positively affects students’ speaking skills, which is shown in the improvement of the students’ speaking scores.
