The Effectiveness of Banana Tree Game in Teaching Writing for Descriptive Text. (An Experimental Research at the Eighth Grade Students of SMP Daar El- Qolam Academic Years 2019/2020)


This research investigates the Effectiveness of Banana Tree Game in Teaching Writing for Descriptive Text. This research used experimental research it was conducted based on the main problems, 1) How is the students’ skill in writing Descriptive Text at the eighth grade of SMP Daar El-Qolam ? 2) How is the effect of using Banana Tree Game in teaching writing descriptive text of the eighth grade of SMP Daar El-Qolam ? To investigat the research, the researcher collects the data from 62 students that spared into two classes, one class as the experimental class and another one is as the control class. The researcher used quasi experimental design. The steps of the research are pre-test, treatment, and post-test. Population of the research was the eighth grade studdents’ of SMP Daar El-Qolam, academic year 2019/2020. The sample of the research is class VIII A as the experimental class and class VIII B as control class. The result of this research shows that the student who have achived better performance used used banana tree game in writing description text than those who do not use banana tree game. The data analysis is using t-test, the value of tobservation is 6.19 with degree of freedom 62 in the degree significance 5% = 1.67 in degree of significance 1% = 2.38. after that the writer compared the data with ttable both in degree significance 5% and 1%. Therefore to : tt = 6.19 > 2.38 in degree of significance 5% and 1%. to : tt = 6.19 > 2.38 in degree significance 1%. to is bigger than tt. It means there is significant effect of using banana tree game in teaching writing descriptive text.
