The effectiveness of using scaffolding technique to teaching reading comprehension (An Experimental Research at Eight Grade of MTs Ashhabul Maimanah Kedaung Mekar Baru Tangerang Banten)
This research investigates the use of scaffolding technique in teaching reading comprehension, specifically it is written in the tittle of this research paper. This research is aimed for knowing student’s response of using scaffolding technique in learning reading comprehension at eight grade senior high school of MTs Ashhabul Maimanah Kedaung Mekar Baru Tangerang Banten; knowing scaffolding technique in teaching reading comprehension at Eight Grade Junior High School of MTs Ashhabul Maimanah Kedaung Mekar Baru Tangerang Banten; and knowing the influence of scaffolding technique on student’s reading comprehension at Eight Grade Junior High School of MTs Ashhabul Maimanah Kedaung Mekar Baru Tangerang Banten. Method used for this research is experimental with two classes, called experimental and control class using pre-test and post-test technique. This research involves 60 student’s as sample among eight class of MTs Ashhabul Maimanah Kedaung Mekar Baru Tangerang Banten year 2018 as population. The result of t-test shows that the value of to (t observation) is higher than tt(t tabel) from significance 5% t observation= 14,06 t table= 1.67 or t observation 14,06>1.67 and significance 1% t observation=14,06 t table= 2.39 or t observation 14,06>2.39, because “to” that the writer got from the calculation is higher than t table both at significance level 5% and 1%, so the hypothesis alternative (Ha) is accepted and (Ho) is rejected. It means that using of scaffolding technique has significant influence in teaching reading comprehension.
