An analysis of teachers’ online corrective feedback on students’ writing skill (A Case study at MA Masyariqul Anwar Caringin)
This study was carried out to analyze the online corrective feedback which was used by the teacher at MA Masyariqul Anwar Caringin. Specifically, it sought to identify what types of online corrective feedbacks are applied by teacher on students’ writing skill and which type of corrective feedback is more effective for improving students' writing skills. The method was used in this study was qualitative method with case study approach. Nine students were selected as the participants. The data were gathered through reading document checklist of corrective feedback types, document analysis of writing aspect and questionnaire. The finding shows that teacher mostly used direct corrective feedback, the total was 31 (55.36 %) which was provided by the teachers. In addition the teacher also used unfocused corrective feedback was the opposite of focused corrective feedback, the total was 8 (14.28 %). Despite there were types of online corrective feedback, the researcher also summarized the effective types of online corrective feedback based on the questionnaire. It was direct corrective feedback and unfocused corrective feedback. Direct corrective feedback was the most understandable type in evaluating students’ writing It was found 77.78 % (F=7) participants stated strongly agree, and direct corrective feedback was also the most effective corrective feedback the total was 66.67 % (F=6) participants stated strongly agree. It was also found that unfocused corrective feedback was also the effective corrective feedback, the total was 55.56 % (F=5) participants stated strongly agree. It was also the most understandable corrective feedback It was found 66.67 % (F=6) participants strongly agree that unfocused corrective feedback was understandable in evaluating their writing.
