The influence of storyboard toward students’ writing skill on recount text


This research investigated the use of storyboard in writing skill. This research to find out whether teaching writing by storyboard is effective or not, especially in teaching writing recount text. This research was quantitative research. The design of this research was quasi-experimental design, exactly two-group pre-test post-test (control and experimental classes) The researcher took sample from class VIII C consist of 25 students as experimental class and class VIII D consist of 25 students as control class. The instrument used in this research tests (pre-test and post-test) and observation. The research finding of the last result showed that tcount ≥ ttable (1,682,40). It means that Ha (alternative hypothesis) is accepted and H0 ( null hypothesis) is rejected. In addition, the result of the research showed that the use storyboard is effective for students’ writing skill on recount text in the second grade of MTs Miftahun Najah Lamongan-Serang. It could be seen from post-test data by proving the students’ score got better than in the pre-test.
