Applying Think Talk Write in creative writing (A case study at SMP 14 Kota Serang)
This research was based on the students’ difficulties in creative writing. The students have good interest in creative writing unfortunately; they were difficult to deliver their idea in the written form. They were needed stimulation of the teacher in delivering their idea. The teachers were needed a new technique in teaching writing to improve students writing skills in creative writing. Think Talk Write Technique aimed to help students in creative writing creatively. The questions of this research were: (1) The application of Think Talk Write Technique in creative writing. (2) The students’ creative writing by using Think Talk Write Technique. The purposes of this research were: (1)to know the implementation of think talk write technique to improve student creative writing. (2)To know the students in creative writing skill after being taught by using Think Talk Write Technique. The research used a descriptive qualitative method with case study approach. The subject of this study is the Eighth Grade Students (Class A) of SMP 14 Kota Serang. This class consists of 27 students. The researcher used three kinds of instrument to collect the data. The first instrument is observation, second is interview, the third is document analysis. The result of this research showed that learning activities through the Think Talk Write learning model get a percentage score of 76%. Based on the assessment category the percentage of 76% is in the good category, the researcher knew that the students activeness in the class was reaching the standard of value. Student of VIII A seems good in paying attention to the teacher explanation and student also follow the teacher instruction such as open book, read text, do the task etc. sometimes some of student seems like not paying attention, there are still some activities that need to be improved, namely: first, asking questions about the material being studied. Second, discuss the contents of the notes in group discussions. Third, record the results of answers from group discussions. Fourth, present the results of group discussions. Fifth, make conclusions about the material being studied. Sixth, conduct evaluation and reflection. The teachers believed that Think Talk Write (TTW) Method can help teacher and students to improving their learn on evaluate each other. So, they were knew to deficiency in the teaching and learning activities, especially in creative writing. Keywords: Creative Writing, Think Talk Write
