ABSTRACT This thesis presents a research about Teaching Reading Comprehension Using Two Stay Two Tray (An Quasi Experiment Research at Eleventh Grade of SMAN 9 KAB. Tangerang). This research conducted base on main problem : 1) How is student’s Reading Comprehension of Eleventh grade SMAN 9 Kabupaten Tangerang?. 2) How is the application of Two Stay Two Stray Technique in teaching Reading Comprehension of SMAN 9 Kabupaten Tangerang?. 3) How the effectiveness of Two Stay Two Stray in Teaching Reading Comprehension at SMAN 9 Kabupaten Tangerang?. In reference to the mentioned research problem, this research aimed at 1) to find out the implementation of Two Stay Two Stray Technique in TeachingReadingComprehensionatSMAN9Kabupaten Tangerang.2)Tofindout theeffectiveness of usingTwo Stay Two Stray Technique in Teaching Reading Comprehension. To answer the question, the researcher use two kind of instrument ; they were Pre-Test and Post-Test. The pre-test was used to find out the data about the student’s Reading Comprehensionability before applying Two Stay Two Stray Technique and Post-Test was done to find out the data about the student’s Reading Comprehensionability after applying Two Stay Two Stray Technique. Beside that, between Pre-Test and Post-Test, it was done treatment to apply Two Tray Two Stray Technique. The method of this research was experiment which used one class. The population of this research was entire of the Eleventh Graduate of SMAN 9 KAB. IV Tangerang and the researcher took sample 30 students 11thIPA1(controlclass) 11thIPA2(experimentclass). From the result of calculation above, it is obtained that the mark of is 6,59 the degree of (tobservation)t of reedom (df) is 58. in the 5% significance level (ttable)t ti s 1.67 while in the 1% significance level is (ttable)t t2 .39. Afterward the researcher compared the data withtt( t table) both at the 5% significance level and at the 1% significance level. Therefore = 6,59 > 1.67 in the 5% :t otts ignificance level and = 6,59 > 2.39 in the 1% :t otts ignificancelevel. The statistic hypothesis states that if is higher tot han , it shows that (alternative hypothesis) of the tt Har esult is accepted and (null hypothesis) is rejected. It Hom eans that there is an effect of teaching reading using TwoTrayTwoStrayTechnique.
