This research investigates the effectiveness of listen-read-discuss for students’ reading comprehension. The research conducted based on statement of problems, 1) how is the students’ reading comprehension skill? 2) how is the effect of using Listen-read-discuss strategy?
To answer the questions, the researcher collects data from 60 students pre reading in to classes, one class as experimental class and another one is control class by using quasi experimental class method. The population is students at Second Grade of Junior High School Al-Khairiyah Pontang , and the researcher takes the sample from VIII B class as experimental class and VIII A class as control class. Since the research used experimental method, the data was gathered through pre-test and post-test.
