This study aimed to know and describe the correlatin between students‟
verbal

linguistic intelligence and their
grammar mastery
. The
population of this study was the
fourth
semester students of Department
of English Education of
Sultan Maulana
Hasanu
ddin
State Islamic
University of
Banten
in academic year
2017
/201
8. There were 40
students from A and D
classes selected as the sample of this study. This
study used a quantitative method with the correlational as the reasearch
design of study. The instrum
ents used for collecting data were verbal

linguistic intelligence questionnaire and
grammar mastery
test. Both
tests were conducted to measure students‟ verbal

linguistic
intelligence and
their grammar mastery
. The data which was collected
was calculat
ed by using Pearson Product Moment Correlation to see
whether there was any significant correlation between the two
variables. Based on the research analysis, the correlation between the
two variables was found at the value of r

was 0.750 which was in th
e
strong or high level. The value was higher
than the value of r

in the
significance of 5% in
which 0.750 >
0.312
. Moreover, the significance
of t contribution revealed that the result was significant with the value

. Hence, the
