This research investigates using mind mapping to increase student's ability in narrative text writing. Writing is one of very important element to be studied and narration is the forms of writing used relate the story of facts or events. Narration occurrence in time and tells used happened according to natural time sequence. This experimental research was conducted to help student's develop their writing narrative by using mind mapping, because to ability to learn language and to profit from experience is obviously interwined with the development of memory. Mind mapping is strategy that created for student's writing because with mind mapping can help the student's to prepare and present information and ideas clearly, interestingly, effectively, and it also acts as a memory tool. The research conducted based on the main problem: 1) how is the student's writing narrative text ability at second grade of SMA AL-Mubarok Serang? 2) how is the influence of mind mapping to increase student's narrative text writing ability. The research aimed to: 1) to know the student's writing narrative text ability at second grade of SMA AL-Mubarok Serang?, 2) to know the effectiveness of using mind mapping ?, 3) to know the role of mind mapping technique to increase student's narrative text writing ability.
